I've followed them for almost 40 years & apart from Peter Reid's time we've been constant utter bollocks.
    Sad but true.

I enjoyed my first game with my Granda, my first ever game in the Fulwell End with the lads, I remember beating Man Utd at Roker Park in the Premier League, I remember when John Kay broke his leg and left the pitch with a smile on his face, I remember the last ever league game at Roker Park and the last ever game against Liverpool. I remember our first ever game at the SOL against Ajax and the hairs stood up on the back of my neck 5 minutes before kick off when the full place went up singing 'Sunderland are the Greatest team the world has ever seen', I remember the first game against Man City and when Quinn scored that goal, I remember when my Granda died and getting his name on a brick and then going to see it, I remember the play off game against Sheff Utd and the atmosphere that night was incredible, I remember Rotherham 1-5 and having to piss where we stood because there was only 1 bog for 3 thousand fans, I remember Reid's team destroying Chelsea, I remember SKP and being lucky enough to be able to say I was there when our best ever forward played, I remember being there for our first home win against Newcastle in 28 years, I remember my trips to Wembley to watch the lads we might not have won but I've got fond memories of them.

We might have had our downs and there's plenty of them, but them positives and memories I've got far outweighs the bad times.

36 managers in my lifetime and I have seen 21 with Knighton the first i think Going to matches !, 13,000 average 1986-87 season I was at them all, 46,000+ I was at them all ! the one manger who should have come was Brian clough in 1985, how things would have changed.
