Until is comes to the forwards, It looks a damn good team.squad, until it comes to the strikeforce.. Is the the weakest forward line in the prem? The midfield will far out score the forwards this season. Is there an alternative formation?
We've definitely left ourselves very vulnerable until January, if one or more of the 3 strikers we have gets injured then we're struggling big style. I think Wickham just needs a goal and he'll gain confidence and be a bit more prolific, Fletcher will always score goals if he gets the right service but he's made of glass lately. Altidore? it scares me to think we will rely on this lad for goals if either of the other two are out, nice lad, bags of determination and guts, just not EPL quality in my humble opinion.
We will have to rely on the midfield for goals, and use Whicks and Jozy up front where they perform a useful service to team play, and you never know, a few goals may follow. The market at present seems to price top scorers out of our reach and we will for the time being have to accept this as a new reality. I am watching Uloah at Liecester with interest as he seems to be doing well and I wonder if Gus has missed a trick here.
Our key to a good season is how little Seb Larsson plays. Yes there are games when he'll probably get the nod for extra defensive cover but if he plays week in week out we wont win many games at all. Giaccherini needs to be brought in for Larsson to give Wickham somone to play off. There was a few times wickham got into good positions drifting to the right but there was no one breaking through the middle. Larsson is the weak link for me in the middle three and is a detriment to the whole team.
