Now then the Joe is still here, Listening to Free bootleg from 1972, so who was the best? What's going on- Rory Gallagher (isle of white), Green Manalishi - Fleetwood Mac (boston 70), Mountain (Filmore 71), Zeppelin ( New York 73), Wishbone Ash (City hall 72 ), Floyd (Berlin 1987)(1974), they were the concerts where I witnessed the best. Feel free to add..
David Gilmour's solo for Comfortably Numb... Spine-tinglingly amazing! I'm going to see The Wall in Manchester in a months time, I cannot wait! Even though it's just Waters, it'll be brilliant!
What a twat i am on the wrong implement, Ginger Baker nah wrong again wait Hank Starving, nah too tame, who the ****er from, money in your pockets and your ? for free, its on the tip of my tongue but cant remember, something cockney comes to mind.
Jersey Dont be dissapointed by Walters only, my son saw the gig at galstonbury in 2003 and it's well covered. Roger Walters is brilliant in everyway as gilmore, mason and the rest. If you get 'high hopes' then you know the rest. Agree, comfortably numb solo is ace but which one? I have it in 15 different live versions. Enjoy mate
Come on lads get out of the dark ages apart from Hendrix who I haven't seen, the best I have seen is John Squire from Stone Roses and the great David Gedge from Wedding Present can't beat a bit of Dalliance or Resurrection Man.
Alvin Lee, The bluest blues, Leslie West (Mountain) Nantucket sleighride 17 min live version(scumbag opera house). Any Floyd track. Gary moore, Rory gallagher, free, cream, sabbath (seen twice at scumbag city hall)

I agree, the best guitar solo of all time. I too am going to see The Wall next month, at The O2, can't wait.
Don't worry, I'm not disappointed! The second solo in the song is the bes, and my favourite is the one from the live album PULSE - the singing's crap, but the guitar is simply divine. This concert will be my first as well (not many bands come to Jersey, surprisingly!), and I'm counting down the days till the 21st of May! The only problem is that it's on the same day as the West Ham match; we're catching the plane from Gatwick, but the last flight to Jersey leaves at 6 pm
Old slow hand is hard to beat saw him at Royal Albert Hall on a couple of occasions although the Tribute to George concert was just about the best of a good job. Saw The Wall at Earls Court first time in 1980. However, my favorite guitarist is Steve Howe of Yes & Asia, very pleasant to talk with, modest but technically second to none on any genre of guitar. Anyone heard of Tommy Emmanuel - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zBEbYXa6Cik
Cool - must have a canny size bedroom to fit the rest of the band in. Steve Howe told me outside Mill Dam he had played over 50'000 hours on the guitar and he was still on the learning curve, puts it all in perspective don't you think. I'll keep practicing!!
100% agree Gilmour's comfortably numb solo is the greatest of all time! The best i've seen live was Slash both in Guns N Roses and Velvet Revolver. Other notable efforts - Pearl Jam - Alive Clapton - Crossroads Metallica - Fade to black
My favourites would have to be Ritchie Blackmore (Deep Purple, Rainbow), Paul Landers (Rammstein) and the vastly underrated Mick Ronson (Bowie's old backing band, The Spiders).
