Spot on Bri, a few years ago I used their services through the "Tackle It" programme and at that time the only support they got was the use of classrooms and a box at the SOL and the use of facilities at the AOL.
I'm surprised there's little connection between the two you'd think it'd be a hand in glove type setup.
Well they are connected in a marketing/promotional/publicity sense. But you can't run a charity though a normal business, all charities have to be their own registered not for profit company.
I think they just exist as aEDIT independent charitable body associated with the club doing very good community activities. The club seem to take credit for this work in the community.
A mate of a mate has confirmed that 27 people look to be laid off by the end of this month with the rest of the workforce at risk until a later date.
Can't speak for the Foundation in question but usually charitable foundations are set up by companies to show support for the local community and are wholly/mostly funded by the company and partially reducing tax deductions in the process Typical example was the Northern Rock Foundation which was closed when Virginia Money pulled the plug in 2016. Without that funding the NRF just couldn't survive. I'm not saying that is happening with FOL but it wouldn't surprise me if it was. Both funders run by hard nosed businessmen, one of which pretends to be the caring sharing type :0)
Peter Vardy, James Ramsbotham, Sir Bob Murrey, Rt Hon Baroness Estelle Morris, Steve Cram, Paul Collingwood, George Clarke, Kathryn Adie and Ward Hadaway Company Secretarial Services Limited are the current FOL directors. Currently no serving SAFC directors on the FOL board of directors. So that's that put to bed.
