I normally am big on RIP threads but not this time. Never liked them, very unfunny and crap music. Sorry he is gone but cant say I feel sadness TBH.

Well I was 10 when they first came on TV and I was very taken with their, as we used to say, 'whacky' humour... little did I realise these were one of the first 'manufactured' bands and by the time they broke up I'd moved on to the likes of Rory Gallagher, Roy Harper and Yes.

I have mixed feeling about them now... partially nostalgic and partially irritated by the trend they set for putting image ahead of ability... no great loss to music but a bit of my childhood dies with him I guess.

There will be one hell of a wake in the bar of The Rovers Return. Apparently even Ena Sharples is returning along with Pat Pheonix.<peacedove>

My wife threatened to leave me because of my obsession with the Monkees, I thought she was only joking - Then I Saw Her Face.

No, in all seriousness the whole lot of them should have been strangled at birth along with that tosser Robbie Williams.
