With so much money knocking around in football, it's hard to believe any player would be so stupid.........but then again footballers never cease to amaze me, sad indeed if it turns out to be true.

If true and found guilty it should be prison for quite a few years. IMO

SB, I don't see it as a sad day for football. The more people to get caught for this type of thing, the better the sport will be.

If you were a bookie would you accept a bet on a sending off ? All a bit too easy to stage isn't it

surprises me what you can bet on these days like the whole no ball thing in cricket, one player can influence things and that has to be a bad thing, wonder how long bookies will take bets like that .

just had a league player here fined 4000 for being involved in a betting scandal re first points in a match - 97% of the bets were a pen to NQ and he was the guy who gave away the pen, couple of past players also involved

Sorry........I'm sure there's a lot of betting dudes who would disagree.....but any 'in-play' betting surely tempts people who can be tempted....any sport
