Alan Knill has been sacked by Torquay.

Rather surprised really....he must be working on a shoestring budget at the best of times.....didn't think that they could afford to do that.

    What do Torquay expect ....seriously?
Crowds that barely scrape past the 2k mark, id say they've done very well to actually not just compete but make play of pushes in L2. Torquay are not in a position to sack anybody and i think they will regret this decision in the long term.

Be honest it is exactly what happens in football. One isn't working so get rid and get another one and cross everything you can this one does better. Often doesn't in the lower leagues but lets not buck tradition. Don't forget pay off the one leaving and pay again for the incoming out of money you didn't have in the beginning.

It's a pity because I quite like Torquay as a small neighbour. I think they have always tried to play football and despite results have given us a game over the years. With their crowds they are never going to go anywhere except maybe one league up or down.

Damn good manager stupid decision IMHO. I like Torquay and always look for there result whatever league we are in but with the crowds they get they have been punching above their weight by being in the football league for a long time. Unfortunately any one who shines there will be picked off and any manager will struggle, who better than Knill on their budget? Good luck guys..... Had a bad feeling for them this season with their form towards the end of last season and summer transfers and hoping I am wrong but think they will go down this Year. If they do will be a long hard struggle to get back. Could see them falling further down the leagues overtime. Respect to their crew though back in the days it was a tough place to visit..... getting in the way of an OAP on his way to an early bird special at the local bistro was far worse than facing down the ICF, 6.53 Crew or Bushwackers <laugh>
