Just flicked on Sky Sports News, they say a Championship manager has been fired!!! I wait... But it's Owen Coyle. Hopefully it'll be our turn next!
did you get a bit excited? is it possible that evans is just looking for a new manager as we speak, and that jewell will be gone once he finds someone daft enough to take the job?
Not according to those in the know. It appears Evans does still have faith. You could argue that having seen our games this season then individual mistakes are costing us dearly and it would be harsh to sack a manager after two players have 2 moments of madness that cost us 3 points on Saturday. The problems comes from the fact that 99% of our games over the last 6 months could be put down to similar moments of madness costing us points and the buck has to stop somewhere and that surely has to be the manager and his coaching staff.
i could be wrong on this but i'm led to believe that he approached royston before getting rid of magilton, making sure he was in place before the sacking.
As I have said before I would welcome Owen Coyle with open arms to Ipswich Town - just the sort of Manager we need, has experience in this league after getting a decent Burnley side promoted and has done his time in the Premier league, young (with the right amount of experience) and looking to build his career. I have always wanted our managers to succeed and always want to see us win, but there are so many similarities to when both Jim and Roy were given the push and with only 6 months left of his contract I just can't see Jewell being here much longer. He simply isn't the man to take us forward which is a shame as I genuinely think he's tried his hardest here and been undone by individual errors too many times to be given any sympathy
So let us forget about the past 18 months or so of his reign then shall we! FFS Evans needs to get get a grip! We haven't won at home since March and have only won once in 9 games! This is not about what happened on Saturday its about whats has happened since he took over. The results speak for themselves he is by far the worst manager in Ipswich Town history!
Firstly, I didnt say I agreed with it, I said it may be Evans logic and also read the rest of my post and especially the last line JWM!
I can confirm that I was never approached about the job However, if offered it, i would take it under serious consideration
