Sums it up perfectly http://anotherarsenalblog.blogspot.com/2012/01/sack-manager-oh-no-not-quite-just-yet.html
No , 2 penalties and an arse deflection . and having to come from 2 goals down against a rubbish team . Definitely keep the manager . Yeah we will brush Swansea and Man Utd ( at home ) under the carpet with the rest .
A 'Rubbish' team that was undefeated in their last 6 away games. A run that included an away win against Chelsea.
Nah Villa are great , they have played 22 games and won 6 plus a goal difference of minus 3 shows their quality . After them AC Milan should be a doddle. have we sunk so low that we now consider a team with those results a " good "team ? Really ?
HF I'm glad you're happy with the outcome today. Believe me when I say that we all are. It's just the way yet again that we came so close to perdition that bothers many of us. It should be interesting to see how the team handles the upcoming matches. The manager's won a bit of a reprieve today but we are not home and dry yet, are we? That's the constant worry and I wish Wenger wouldn't keep talking about mental strength when it is such a rare commodity.
Missing the point. You said they are a 'rubbish' team. For a rubbish team they must have been doing something well to have gone undefeated in 6 away games before today. Villa are clearly set up to play on the counter and therefore a team like that is not always a push over. We clearly missed someone like Arteta from the start against a counter attacking team such as Villa. Aston Villa are clearly a good team away from home in recent times. They have pace to burn on the counter and set up to get the best out of that strength.
Indeed , my sentiments exactly Listen to half full ( the olny real AFC fan ) you would think we just beat Barca 3 - 0 , and all is right with the world ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
How often do fans of clubs think everything is ok? Would a Man United fan say everything was ok? Chelsea? Liverpool? Man City even? I think expectations have become very high for clubs. I don't even think the trophy drought is very significant. I doubt Wenger would be getting much of a break if we had won the CC final last year.
Not taking anything away from Arsenal, to be 2-0 down and win is a great result but Villa are genuinely an awful team
I'm delighted with our second half performance. However, only if Wenger keeps us in the the top four I'll hold my hand up and concede that I have judged Wenger and some of the players too harshly, not after one half of an FA cup tie at home that a team of our stature were losing 2-0 at half time.
Probably not Mr Toledo but then again it is a monkey cup anyway and we lost to a monkey team against whom we should have been having a tea party at their expense. To have won it though might have given the team some belief. Instead we all know what happened.
