Apart from him having a couple of caps for Germany, as Bandit said, the only thing I know is that he played for Wolfsburg when we played them, although I can't admit to any recollection of how he played. From what I can gather he's 'solid' which I take to mean "good at his job without being spectactular". The other phrase/cliche used is that he has a good 'engine' and capable of getting up and down the field. A bit like the Riise of late, then ??
