If we had put an offer in for him we would have got him (no disrespect to Wigan). I just dont understand what Pulis sees sometimes. He will be a massive success at Wigan mark my words. Im really pissed off about this one!!.
Ric Why get so ****ed off over something WE(the fans) can't do anything about mate? At least Kightley has experience at this level. AND, if Arsene thought this lad was half decent I'm sure he would not have loaned him to Wigan. Me, I'm not that fussed and i'm hoping Kighley will do well for us. I've not checked any stats but, was this 19yr old any good for Bolton last season?
ricc,do you seriously think,Arsenal would loan us anyone,especially our style of play and the bitter history between us? Let`s give Kightly a chance eh! I honestly think it`s crunch season for us if we carry on playing our style of `football`! I hope these signings he has made are good because otherwise we`re f----d.
Ive got no problem with Kightly and ill support him to the hilt however I personally dont think hes an improvement on what we have To be honest, and if Etherington got injured then we have Walters to put there and if Pennant got injured then we have Shotton there, as I think Shotton does a good enough job on the wings, so I personally think Kightly is someone we could have done without. This transfer window I will be happy if we get rid of Kenwyn Jones and get a good striker in (hopefully Defoe or Owen). Ive always wanted Pulis to sign a playmaker but thinking about it he would be wasted with the tactics we play. I also think that Olsson would be a brilliant bit of business if Pulis can pull it off. From what ive seen of Ryo he would have been a great addition to the side and ticks all Pulis boxes.
Ric I'm CERTAIN that Kightly will do a (much better job) as a left winger/midfielder than either Walters or Shotton mate.. just my own oppinion of course. Shotton's crossing for the most part was worse than useless, same with Walters. Shott's has the pace but not yet the ability he needs to play wide left.. of course Tony P thinks he does, I personally like this new signing. MORE to come in Ric? let's bloody well hope so mate. If not I think we could be scuppered this season. Reason? Lack of a midfield and creative players and we shipped far too many goals last season too.
He's too young for Pulis to put enough trust in to play a big part. I wasn't too fussed about Kightly, but since he's signed I've heard nothing but good things about him from Wolves fans. He may not be an improvement, but it won't do any harm having three wingers of a similar quality to compete for a place, and now there's no excuse for not playing 2 wingers! Someone has said it before, but I think we will do well with the signings we've got so far, as long as they are played in the right position and we go out with the right intent.
Thats all we ask PP, we may not have the best players in the league, but if we play them in the right position with the right intent alot of Stokies would be very happy!
