Still a proper sporting spectacle. I’m sure somebody makes a load of money from it, but not the players (not that these blokes need any more). Europe up in all 4 of the foursome games in Rome this morning. On paper the US team looks much stronger but match play is weird. Stratford upon Avon golf club is half a mile from where I live. Apparently it’s very exclusive and expensive (I haven’t played golf for years and don’t intend to again, so no problem for me). On its sign at the entrance it give the name of the club and, underneath, says ‘Samuel Ryder, Club Captain 1929’. Apparently he came up with the idea and donated the trophy. Made his fortune selling packets of seeds through the post.
Hovland paired with Hatton for the four-ball and already 1 up. I've backed him at 25-1 to score 5 points. He may not play all 5 of course, but hard to see Donald leaving him out.
I'm bored of TRC already. Admittedly mostly out of ignorance in not knowing the rules or being prepared to learn them.
You don’t get stuff like this on other, inferior, threads https://youtube.com/shorts/e1xqwAF61GE?si=jQpk4M35cP-CRBOj
A record-breaking 9&7 win for Hovland and Aberg against the World number one and some fella who doesn't even play on the tour.
Some morning again for Europe 3-1 in the session.... Same again this afternoon please lads...... Oh and a R's win as well, not too much to ask is it?
Shame about the dropped point this morning. If Europe had won all 8 today, they wouldn't have had to bother with the singles.
