"Fulham are considering recalling Ryan Tunnicliffe from his loan spell at Championship rivals Blackburn Rovers. The former Manchester United midfielder has made just two starts at Craven Cottage since his permanent switch down south earlier this year. Tunnicliffe joined Blackburn on loan in August after being deemed surplus to requirements by former boss Felix Magath. The 21-year-old has scored one goal in 10 appearances during his time at Ewood Park and is due to remain with Gary Bowyer's side for the rest of the campaign. However, Kit Symons, who worked with Tunnicliffe with Fulham's U21s at the beginning of the season, is contemplating triggering a break clause in the deal to bring the youngster back in January." Source: http://www.getwestlondon.co.uk/spor...ham-ponder-recalling-blackburn-rovers-8084780 Assuming this report is accurate, is Kit looking at Tunnicliffe as defensive midfield cover for Parker and Christensen; having no faith in the background players Fotheringham, Fazlik and Chihi? Or is he thinking of playing him at right back? Or might it be one of the elements within the Club in negotiations for money in the January window?
It's got to be as midfield cover. Our only centre midfielders that are worth playing are Parker, LVC and Hyndman. Kit needs to address this in January and bringing Ryan back is the most cost effective way of doing so. It would allow Kit to spend his transfer budget (if any) on other areas. Letting Ryan go didn't make sense to most of us and recalling him makes perfect sense to me. Although wasn't there a suggestion of him not being able to settle in London?
The Telegraph reported a few weeks back that Khan was going to let the new manager (unknown at the time) have a decent budget come the new transfer window as part of our attempt to reach the play-offs.
