Could these quotes influence Ryan Williamson transfer decision as Bristol City, Hibernian and Derby County chase defender His manager has had a say. Bristol City are said to be keen on Scotland under-21 defender Ryan Williamson. please log in to view this image The 22-year-old, who is primarily a full-back but can play anywhere across the back four, has been linked with a move to the Robins this week, having also been subject to interest from Hibernian and Derby County over the past 12 months. He currently plays for Scottish Championship side Dunfermline, whose asking price of £100,000 put Dundee United off making any bids in the summer. Yet Williamson is out of contract next summer, meaning that, should the Robins decide to make a move in January, they could get him for a cut-price fee, or Dunfermline risk losing him on a free. It appears his manager, Allan Johnston, rates the player highly, and said last January that it was no surprise Williamson was attracting interest.Forums He told Deadline News: "That’s the problem in January, you’re always going to have big clubs looking at your good players. "And Ryan has certainly been one of them – he’s been fantastic this season. Going forward, he’s always been really, really good, but defensively this season he’s been solid. "You can just see how much he’s progressing every year, so it’s no surprise that bigger clubs are looking at Ryan. "I don’t think there’s been any contact from Hibs, but I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s teams looking at him, because he is a good player." With an extra year of experience under his belt come this January transfer window, and the chance to sign Williamson on the cheap, Johnston could well find himself in a similar situation to last season. https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport...ould-quotes-influence-ryan-williamson-2186793
If this rumour is true I find it incredible that Johnson is looking at signing yet another defender, what about Taylor Moore who cost a £1m plus is he not up to the job,we have a desperate need for a class striker or is it all subterfuge?
It goes along with my argument, WHY ! ? ..when we are supposed to have the ability to bring on talent, with the aim of playing them to eventually see them move on whilst still being a force to reckon with in the championship. i have led quite an adventurous life ! some of things I gotten up to and "got away with" may not rank as highly as single rowing the Atlantic … climbing Everest with no oxygen backup or free diving to 250 foot carrying a 10 kilo weight or something … but rate as quite hairy! there is however a tentative link to LJ and City …. we played our academy and players we had brought in and coached .. and for a couple years got success they move on and now a reluctance to do the same! .. you cross over a frozen lake, the ice is a few inch's thick , next day you return .. only to need to go back the day after! but there is a doubt was successful before, but has the ice got thicker, thinner or someone been over and it has cracked !!! [ CONFIDENCE DOUBT creeps in ] SO do you look for an alternative? or apply the reasoning you did 3 days ago ? Is this reasonable thinking...[ 3 days ago worked once ] .. should be good again, or a gamble, worked before so likely to again as not much has changed, or "that worked but might not again" so wait for it to freeze more or melt and get a boat or go for a long walk around the problem to get to the otherside! I think City is doing one or both of the latter … . lack of confidence, scared of upsetting the apple cart which will merrily roll along half full and get to the end of the season "in a respectable position" maybe top 12.. or risk it, calculated that is, and finish better or same at end of season. WORST SCENARIO IS WE FINISH in 13th to 19th ! we have Taylor -Moore … Zak Vyner both on loan! 2 or 3 strikers out on loan! [ and a few other talents out on loan also ] MAYBE the plan is start the 2016/2017 plan next season!....
Or perhaps in yet another 5 years? City are very good at telling the world what they want to be, and how to get there, but then they fall at the same hurdle every time.
Taylor Moore and Williamson are both described as players who can play fullback and central defence but you are correct their main playing positions are as you stated. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taylor_Moore 'Is an English footballer who plays for Bristol City as a defender, playing in the right-back or centre-back position.' https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport...ould-quotes-influence-ryan-williamson-2186793 'The 22-year-old, who is primarily a full-back but can play anywhere across the back four.'
