It’s not DUI this time. please log in to view this image Instead it’s the FA who have charged him with aggravated misconduct by reference to sexual orientation after comments about Patrick Bamford posted on his Twitter account. Comments which I won’t bother to repeat. Tunnicliffe has until 11th June to respond. Source: http://www.thefa.com/news/governanc...ith-aggravated-misconduct#HFS6Vv2a8oS380LK.99
Given the description of the comments as homophobic, you can probably work it out. I hadn't heard that one before either. And, yes, agreed: what a muppet.
What amazes me is the club standing by (apparently) this guy and his homophobic comments! Surely the club should do something?
After he posted it on Twitter he went on to sat that it wasn't homophobic, and that sausage = dick, so he was basically saying Banford was a dick. he's a bit of an idiot for doing it but I don't think it can really be classed as a homophobic comment... I really don;t get why people are so offended but this stuff. He's a bit of an idiot yes but there a lots of idiots out there....
It was explained in an earlier post that it was homophobic TMHAF. So what you're saying is, if it was a homophobic comment it's no big deal? I'm not easily offended but it sure as hell offends me that the little f#@k plays for Fulham.
After he tweeted it he followed up saying it wasn;t intended as homophobic, he was saying it was intended as saying Banford was a dick... I'm not sure how one guy calling another guy a dick can offend anyone. I agree it makes him look like an idiot but I can;t see how it offends. People are far to quick to assume comments made are homophobic/racist/sexist... if you don;t like the bloke or he offends you then don't follow him on twitter. I'm not saying making homophobic comments is acceptable I'm saying I don't think he intended it that way... He's a 22 year old guy... saying and doing stupid things is what they do...
What really offended me was his other follow-up tweet. Somebody, replying to Tunnicliffe’s original message, suggested he could expect a fine. To which our errant boy responded, “So What! I can afford it.”
Fulham, by implication, are involved in this though. He is an employee of the club. As an example, Virgin Atlantic sacked a number of aircrew after comments made on Facebook. Admittedly they were customers but I'm not convinced it's any different. It still has bigger implications on the company/club.
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=sausage boy Get him off our books - he's had problems with his attitude before - had his chance and threw it away before he joined us. Will be lucky to play League 1 next season.
There are loads of newspaper stories about the outcome of the charge against Tunnicliffe here is the Official one: "Ryan Tunnicliffe has been suspended for two games at the beginning of next season and fined £5,000 after admitting a charge of aggravated misconduct by reference to sexual orientation after comments posted on his Twitter account. Tunnicliffe has also been ordered to attend a mandatory education course. The Club, which has a zero tolerance policy for anti-social behaviour of any kind, can also confirm that it will be taking action against Ryan for his unacceptable actions."
Good. And if he's accepted the charge, does that mean he's dropping his ridiculous excuses about what the phrase did or didn't mean?
Absolutely should be the case. Doubt if any of his five senses permit him to believe he's in the the wrong, however. And good also that the Club are taking separate action - presumably a further fine.
Apparently the club's punishment is a 2 week fine which amounts to £20,000. If Tunnicliffe is on 10k per week and we only offered Pat 5k per week we may have bigger problems than we thought.
