@SkySportsPeteO: Sky Sports understands Leicester are lining up a move for Stoke's Ryan Shotton. #SCFC #LCFC
Thought he was first choice for Stoke? Would be a good signing and make De Laet better as he actually has competition now.
.. I know this is likely to get some people's backs up but ......... I have never rateed Konchesky ... my priority would be a good quality left back ... and that is not Shotton's natural position ..
Panic move number 1... was it less than a week ago nigel was saying he did not envisage any more business? and was happy with our squad.. even though the world and his wife knew we were short of defensive cover... lets wait and see....
.. I'd prefer one who can time a tackle and has enough grey matter to know when not to dive in ... oh yes ... and one that doesn't get turned inside out by a decent winger ... but now I'm just being picky.., as you say, he has a rocket throw
.. then please accept my unreserved apology ... .. I suspect I know why you like Konchesky, he is a whole hearted player, fully committed ... he's just not very good IMHO (particularly now) ... and how he ever got an England cap is beyond me ... but then again I've been watching the city long enough to have seen some very good full backs ... David Nish, Peter Rodrigues, Steve Whitworth, Dennis Rofe, Bobby Smith, Colin Gibson, Paul Ramsey, Pontus Kaamark .. and even 'Larry' Grayson was better than Konchesky ...
Last week Liam Moore wasn't sort after by Premier League clubs - we are in need of another RB now and we are linked with someone better De Laet imho. While SSL and Whitbread played crap the last game they were both back from injury so should (hopefully) be getting back in the swing of things giving us a CB and LB cover.
No, its because he is very composed, always makes himself an option and i think his positioning and decision making it generally very good.
Paul McShane's your man, I can drop him off tomorrow(it'll have to be in the afternoon though, I've got a meeting in the morning, hope that's not a deal breaker?)
He's is a bit **** really. When we signed Marshall Stoke were desperate that we signed Shotton instead.
^ no, just my oppinion. Next game watch out for it and you will notice that when a CB has the ball and everyone runs away, often he will be the only one making himself an option.
