Former Sunderland youngster Ryan Noble feels he was never given a fair chance at Sunderland. Noble was released at the end of last season but thinks he was not given enough game-time to showcase the talent which saw him score prolifically at both reserve and youth level. Noble, who broke the record for the number of goals scored in one season in Sunderland's academy in 2010, told Sky Tyne and Wear: âThe goals Iâve scored and what Iâve done, I at least deserved some time on the pitch. âBut I am now in the position where I can say I have not even had the chance to say I did play bad or had a bad performance. âAnd then for them (Sunderland) to say 'well you have had your chance' - but I didnât get that chance.â Noble, 22, has a number of offers from potential suitors including one Championship club. Noble said: âI am going to take a couple of days to look at my offers and decide where I have the most amount of game-time and see where I can get my career back on track.â
I agree with him. If somebody is as prolific as him then they generally have something about them and have a higher percent chance of carrying it on to the top level. I always championed him and feel he did deserve a run in the side.
Yep would have loved to see him get a couple of games. I have to agree I don't think he was given a chance. Good luck to the lad
Disagree mate, if 3 gaffers, keane, bruce and mon all tell you to beef up and you think you know better than your not gonna cut the mustard, to me that is 3 chances and his loan to hartlepool, didnt take that either
If he's any good, he'll come to show that the club was wrong. Based on intuition rather than the facts of him being so prolific at academy level, I just doubt he will rise to a high level. Instead, I think he will just drift in to obscurity of league football.
If he'd have scored that gift chance against Barrow in the cup he'd have set himself away like Owen did at Liverpool. Still should have had more time on the pitch. Bit lightweight but Owen/Fowler are no hulks.
He was **** when he was out on loan at lower league clubs. Why does that give him the right to a run in the first team? His attitude seems a bit suspect to me.
Don't think he got a chance in the first team bit like Whickham isn't getting a chance look at how he plays for England Under 21s.
this. he clearly has an attitude issue. if he can't cut it at hartlepool.....we'll see if he grows up and gets games
There was one point where I was convinced this lad would make it at the top, it was before Mons first game and he was in the stands to watch our youths vs Manchester United at Eppleton. Anyway Noble caused havoc and scored 4 and terrorised two CBS much larger than him. Great pace and clinical finishing. Mon was unimpressed as he didn't even make the bench for the next game. Since then it seems to have gone downhill, Hartlepool was a poor choice of loan spell as they have a **** team and he got no service (not much of an excuse). I feel he probably should have been given his chance with a run o games but not sure he would have taken it.
Remember watching that game on the net, was the first time we saw mon involved iirc, following a massive thread on a forum, probably as big as an away day thread, decended into utter chaos with the mag posters
Messi, Chicarito, Walcott, Sanchez, el Shawaary... All just pacey players with little or no strength Whilst he is not in the same class as these few, they show you dont need to be beefy to play Hence spain are brilliant at football
Had all the hype for a while, cest used to rave about this lad all the time. Who knows, it could be a blessing in disguise for the lad, and maybe he'll become a star player for another club.
I agree, but its not my point, point is 3 different managers told him the same thing and he didnt listen, " if you want to make it son you need more strength/power " the problem with him is his dad
He used to come into work raving about how fantastic ryan was, how the managers didnt know what they were talking about, me and my colleague would humor him, oh aye mr noble, bit of a ****** tbh! Head right in the clouds, using phrases like he'll be off if he doesnt get into the first team, could get in any prem side, crap like that
Like Ji, Thomas helmer (remember him, German international) and about another 50 players over the years.
