Can Ferdinand manage in Toronto with Boswinga assistant manager until Nelsen has kept out Liverpool at Anfield??
Yes I'm a gypsy. But even from my caravan I can see Nelsen's had you all over. 'best wishes Ryan. Hope you have a great season in the US while we desperately try to survive'. I liked the guy. But he's nothing to me now. And u lot should be the same. Coward he is. Unless Samba comes in and then it's the greatest decision he ever made and noone will remember Ryan. Payback
You're entitled to your opinion Stains - I think it probably just comes across as a bit brittle - and in a season where the likes of Boswinga, Park, Ferdinand and other top earners seem to coast along with seemingly no heart, it jars when one of those who has earned his corn is slated. I think most agree with your rationale - yes it seems a bit suicidal - but there's not much that any of us can do - except thank RN for his efforts and begrudgingly accept it.
Thanks for everything Ryan and best of luck in your managerial career with TFC here in Canada - looking forward to seeing your influence on the team, in particular their defensive capabilities. Would love to have him for the Norwich game, but it really doesn't make sense to include him in the 25 for a single game, although if it ensured 3 pts would almost be worth it. Now if we could only keep him until the end of March? To Simon - really throwing your toys out of the pram? Get back down the basement with your computer & TV and wait for mummy to bring you down your next meal.
Good post. Judging by his comments when he signed with Toronto he was going to retire at the end of the season anyway as he couldnt go on playing on "glass ankles and knees." Being given an opportunity to further your career when he would otherwise been without a job at the end of the year. He'd be stupid to turn it down really.
It should also be remembered that Nelsen is playing with "glass" knees and ankles, he needs treatmeant the whole week through because of his efforts. Hughes hoped he could get 5-10 games out of him this season, that's how much his body is worne down. He has been a mainstay and by a mile our best player this season. Yes it hurts to see him leave, but you have to step back and ****in' see the bigger picture. It's a damn shame we have come down to this, relying on a 35 year old that wasn't going to play in the first place, but that is the mess we find ourself in 'cause the p*** poor management we've just gotten rid of. That is is a different debate altogether though.

Simon, you're a genuine twat and BTW Toronto Football Club is here in CANADA, not USA! How old are you anyway?
Quite emotional to see the guard of 'honour by the players' at the end. And the applause from the fans for someone who has served their club well for the short time he was here was also heart warming. Ryan....Good luck for the future and thanks for the memories.
Perhaps one of these days I'll make it up from the Maritimes to see TFC play a game with Ryan in charge. I've watched a few games on TV and there is definite room for improvement especially in defence. 1976 - 1978 I lived in Vancouver and got to few Whitecaps games where I had the opportunity to see Pelé, Eusébio and Franz Beckenbauer play in their twilight years.
Me too, must be the wrong time of the month for me - even when Hart & Cesar hugged and exchanged jerseys.
some fans make me laugh, you just cant please them, ryan knows what he can and cant do, time is catching up with him, players will always play until there body tells them otherwise, take a bow son sounds like you deserve it, b.t.w here is no chance of rangers going down,
There are some great posts on this thread. What a way to bow out Rhino Nelsen. Solid as a rock tonight. We'll miss you. Thanks.. From all of us.
If Ryan Nelsen had a contract, he wouldn't be able to 'just tear it up' unilaterally without the club's permission. The club would've had their reasons for allowing the guy to move on. Apart from the fact that we as fans can do **** all about it, we support the club - and ALL the people around me tonight were out of their seats applauding Nelsen in full voice.
