The 21-year-old winger joins City's Sky Bet Championship challenge for the remainder of the season. Former England youth international Kent is available to make his debut against Norwich City on Saturday (3pm kick-off). The winger becomes City's second signing this month, after Liam Walsh's permanent move from Everton was confirmed last Friday. Head coach Lee Johnson told bcfc.co.uk: “I’m delighted to bring in a player of Ryan Kent’s quality. "He did very well at Barnsley last year and he’ll bring genuine speed, athleticism and ball control to our squad. “We thank Liverpool for entrusting us with another top player’s development and I’m looking forward to welcoming him into the group.” Oldham-born Kent is a product of Liverpool’s Academy setup. He spent four months on loan at Coventry City, before joining Barnsley on loan for the entire 2016/17 campaign where he won the Tykes' Young Player of the Year award. He went on to make six appearances for SC Freiburg in the Bundesliga this season before his recent return to parent club Liverpool. Kent has been handed squad number 40. https://www.bcfc.co.uk/news/city-loan-in-liverpool-s-kent/
This is the sort of signing you get the opportunity to sign when your profile is raised. A great job by all at BCFC this season. This lad is very very highly thought of at Liverpool, just hope he settles in quickly.
Why he signed for Bristol City. http://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/kent-liverpool-city-johnson-leeds-1049459
Nice that clubs such as Chelsea and Liverpool are entrusting us with their starlets.... Hark at I being positive !
How Tammy Abraham progressed under LJ's stewardship will have been noticed. Also the way we have played against the 2 Manchester clubs must have been a factor
Sorry gents but that was a performance not good enough for BCFC. A poor performance is forgivable, but putting in zero effort isn't, and that is exactly what happened. While Korey and Taylor were pressuring the defence when Norwich had the ball, he was stood there. When Bryan sprinted down the wing looking for options, Kent was stood there when he should have been busting a gut. And when he did have the ball, he looked great dribbling, but was far too greedy. Luckily that can be coached but that performance stunk imo. Just looked like a Premier League player who thought he was too good for the Championship.
Shocking the lad seemed like he did not want to be there. We can forget the top two spots. Three league loses on the trot has put paid to that. A proper striker is a must,Bobby has done us proud, but he ain’t no striker.
Polar opposite to Liam Walsh I thought. But we know there is a good player in there so hopefully a few training sessions will help him settle in.
he has never known the security of being a player for a club as opposed to being a loanee.. he has not scored many goals and will likely need a game or 2 to settle in. bearing in mind he spent just spent 5 months not playing his fitness edge must be lacking
His fitness lacking and his needing to gel with new team mates is normal and accepted, what is worrying is the comments on here that he showed no interest, that is a concern. Maybe he is a billy big b0ll0cks and that was an issue at Freiburg...?
No mate - Born in Berkeley (Glos.) and live in Whitchurch, Nor exactly posh, but I was brought up proper like
his interview wasn't that fluid! and as to his reasoning ? ..guess it might have been any port in a storm to get football! we will have to wait and see
Far too early to judge, also he'd not been able to spend anytime getting to know the way we play or his team mates. What was most worrying though is whist he obviously is very talented he didn't seem to care, and was unwilling to chase , that doesn't need time to gel , I thought the same about Leko, both talented but not committed to the cause.
