http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2015/08/06/tottenham-defender-ryan-fredericks-poised-to-join-bristol-city/ Boro fans seemed to like him last season, so I reckon this could be a great signing for us. Can't say I know too much about him though.
Can't say I know anything about him, but that he featured regularly in a talented Middlesbrough side last season is encouraging. Should go some way to relaxing fans and hopefully the first of a few more additions out of the blue...
Another one in. His age should allow him to fit in well with the squad. Hope he performs as well for us as he summed to for Boro last season
IT'S HAPPENING! http://www.bcfc.co.uk/news/article/fredericks-joins-from-spurs-2596693.aspx He seems like a solid addition to me. I thought he was a left back, but turns out he's a right-sided player. I guess the fact we're playing with a wing back shows that we might be sticking to a three man defense? EDIT: The reported fee was £250k. If he turns out to be good, that's an absolute bargain at this level! I spoke to a mate that follows Boro and he said he'd have liked to see him stay on with them. Apparently, he's quick, and he's the kind of player that likes getting forward.
It's weird how we're managing to do all of our transfer business in complete secret. The rumours for both signings came out after the players had already signed on the dotted line. It's making me a bit more hopeful now. I still think we've ****ed up our transfer dealings this summer, but I'm hoping to see more surprises from the club.

SC was asked by the BBC only an hour before it was announced if any signings were happening, he just said "who knows, you never know". Gives me confidence, its the right way to do business.
Another one not on the radar - as said by others, the right way to do business Looks a decent signing
It's a great way to do business, but I really hope we end up signing more players. We're still at 17 players when a light squad should really be at around 20. If we end up getting to around 19-20 I'll happily admit that I was a fool for doubting the manager and board. On a related note, what does this signing mean for Ayling and Little?
It will keep them on their toes & hopefully play even better than they have, super piece of management...have no fears our steve knows what he is doing.
We still need another pacy forward, back up goaly and midfielder, but this has eased the pressure a little
It's a bit weird to have three options at right-back, but hardly any in the centre of our defense, or two forwards when we tend to play with two forwards. I imagine that Ayling could move into the centre though.
