I think it was on the cards, when a player runs his contract down the club can't really compete with the cash he will get for being a free agent. If Fulham had gone down the route of trying to pay a hefty sign-on contract fee to keep him, it would have sent out the wrong message. Fredericks may find out next season what a basket case of a club he has joined if West Ham get off to a poor start or struggle against relegation as the fans there will quickly turn on the players and directors. For me we have Christie, Odoi and possibly Steven Sessegnon to cover, so it won't be a priority.
