Shrews fan in peace. We have just signed Ryan Doble on a free after being released by your team. 21 year old and been with you since he was a youngster.

Any info on him, style of play etc.

    Cheers

Don't think any of us can really give you any good information as most of us have never seen him play! You'd be best off asking Bournemouth or Bury fans.

On one hand, he got called into the Wales full squad at a young age which shows someone in their setup obviously liked him, but on the other hand, we played two seasons in League One and he didn't get a minute for us. Don't really know, though.

Highly rated by Adkins, but the Prem is a step too far for him

He'll do alright for you once he has found his best position!

Which position? Mixed messages on if he is either Striker, CM or left winger.

    Thanks for the info <ok>

I only ever saw him once, Coventry away. To be fair he was diabolical and his shooting was poor. Does run a lot though. Seems to suit an AM role or as second striker, making runs beyond the front man.

It's a bit unfair to judge him on one game. I was at Coventry too and thought he didn't do a lot but he was thrown in the deep end.

A big strong lad for his age, best used as a target man and someone to hold the ball up after a punt upfield, giving time for the midfield to push up and join the attack.

Not really sure if he's a natural finisher - probably why he hasn't been played purely as a striker. Useful addition on a free I would imagine.

He's had a few injuries so hasn't got a lot of regular games for anyone really. Seems like he did well for Bury and they're not a bad side. Good luck to him.

I'm not suggesting that that is what he is and that he will never be good. I mentioned that I had only ever seen him once and that he was poor. He does run a lot and makes some good runs though.

Not labelling him as a crap player with no potential or who is always poor. Just saying if he wanted an opinion on what we had seen, that is what I had seen.

Good luck to Shrews for next season, my Mum's a fan. No idea what Doble's like to be honest, and not sure on his best position either.
