Sky Sports understands Bristol Rovers striker Ryan Brunt is a target for a number of clubs on loan. Rovers are thought to be open to the idea of letting Brunt depart for a spell so that he can get some valuable first-team action under his belt. The former Stoke youngster is keen to make a temporary switch in a bid for much-needed game time after seeing his season last term curtailed early by injury. The 21-year-old found himself out of action from November onwards last term with a knee injury, but he is now back in action and is determined to build up his match fitness. Brunt, who joined Rovers from Stoke in January 2013, scored five goals in 18 games in his first season at the Memorial Stadium, playing a key role in helping them stay up in League Two that campaign. Several Football League clubs have been alerted to Brunt's availability on loan and his suitors are now hoping to take the powerful target-man on a temporary basis as they look to bolster their attacking options. http://www1.skysports.com/football/...ker-ryan-brunt-wanted-by-seveal-clubs-on-loan
Best thing for him - he's not getting a look in here. Mainly because he's been ****. Hopefully he can go away and come back to something approaching his old self.
Where we can only have 5 subs, we usually have 2 strikers on the bench and of course 2 strikers on the pitch. Cunnington and Taylor have a good understanding and are doing well. I thought Cunnington was unlucky not to have scored on Tuesday. Talyor seems undroppable at the moment. He has been running his heart out and terrorising the oppositions defence. That leave Harrison, White and Brunt to fill to spots on the bench. Harrison is proving himself at the moment and deserves the 1st spot on the bench. He has become a bit of a super sub and with his pace too, coming on for the last 20 mins will really give the opposition defence nightmares. So its out of Brunt and White to take the last spot. I think White will score more goals than Brunt so White gets it for me. Brunt being 5th choice meaning being unable to prove himself will want to go out on loan to be able to prove he is over his injury and gain match fitness along with hopefully scoring goals gaining confidence. Then when he comes back it will hopefully be like a new signing. Good move all round to be honest.
Update on this situation: In the Rovers vs FGR thread (reserve match that took place today), it shows all the tweets from Rovers about the game and some info was given on Brunt because he wasnt involved in the game. So in case you have misses this info, I will post them here too.... Rovers tweet: "Ryan Brunt not involved today as DC says Harrison and White need 90 minutes" Another Rovers tweet: "DC says that Brunt has asked to go out on loan." Someone replied asking if the Brunts loan request was allowed, rejected or no decision made yet. Rovers reply: "We only managed to grab a word with Darrell. Will endeavour to find out more"
I logged into twitter during the game and seen a tweet from Brunt before I knew about the above tweets from Rovers. Brunts tweet was that he was watching the reserve game. So I replied "Would have thought you would be involved in this game if not injured! Are you injured or just not in the managers plans?" He replied back "not injured by anymeans" Then I seen the tweets from Rovers about going out on loan and that DC wanted White and Harrison to get 90 mins.
Tweet from Rovers: "Darrell Clark says he has agreed that Ryan Brunt can go out on loan. As yet, though, no club has shown an interest in taking him"
What league will he go out on loan too? Most loans go down a league or sideways. Just asking not mocking
I reckon he'll go to someone in League 2 - probably local or poss Midlands as he's from Birmingham. Wouldn't be surprised to see him go to Cheltenham. Having said that, no-one's come in for him yet even though there was that report on Sky Sports saying that a league team was interested in him.
He must have something about him that Stoke saw. Most of the time (when he played) he was used as a Target man and I recall he openly admitted he is not a Target man though his height our previous managers used him as one. He is an out and out Striker and I think if used alongside the right person he would bang them in. Ryan Brunt's legacy here will be the striker that was always played out of position.
