    I see that Newsnow are reporting that Ryan Bennett has been called up as a stand-by defender for the GB Olympic squad.

    Good for him to be considered but would we see that as a risk in his preparation for our season if he was called up ?

    As a standby Yes. If he was going to play then good luck to the lad. But just to train with them just in case doesn't sound appealing

    there were rumours of this previously

    i'd give him the chance if he got called up - the games is like a pre-season for most of them

    Football should not be in the Olympics. Sorry but it is getting on my nerves as is the Tennis. Another 2 weeks of soppy Barker drooling over Murray!

    i don't know where the r.bennett story has come from, but it is not mentioned on the city web page, and i would have thought that it would have a prominent place there.
