Don't see anything wrong with what he said really. I'm more surprised he said the crowd was good then anything else.
"A good crowd and a good ground nothing else". I hope he wasn't talking about Hughton ? I have watched St Ettienne a few times this year and they look much better than us to be honest.
It was actually quite an interesting read as I wasn't aware that he had recently become a parent.. It is just another classic case of a footballer having ability with their stock high, but not able to adapt quickly enough/given enough time in English football and then the stock falls at an alarming rate before they return to the continent branded a 'failure' after a short period. What I find quite strange was this quote “I talked to Robin van Persie about Norwich, that is true. He said it was always difficult to face Norwich at home. And they did have a good crowd and a good ground. Nothing else.” Clearly his time with Norwich was far from an enjoyable one and doesn't ever consider himself donning the green & yellow again
I bet you when he left he didn't say those things, exactly what I was saying the other day about taking everything in the press with a pinch of salt!
I appreciate it's speculation because it's not easy to understand from the translation, but I think what RvW said is that RvP told him that we have a good crowd and a good ground, but that RvP did not tell him anything else. I.e. when he was asked if RvP encouraged him to come to Norwich, RvW was batting away the question by saying that RvP gave him very little information beyond that. I don't think RvW was saying that was his opinion (i.e. he was not asked). I could be wrong, but I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt, so I can't be offended, tbh.
Exactly my take on it Rob. How easily the written word can be misinterpreted, and how quickly people jump on it.
RvW has distanced himself from the article, which was a double translation.
