Haha Arsenal fans before United move ''Best player in the world'' Joins United ''Overrated only had one good season for Arsenal, injury prone'' Leaves United ''Ruined his career joining United could have stay at Arsenal and become a legend'' Leaves English football with a Premier league trophy
I get why they were pissed at him for leaving but they got good money for him and he couldn't waste all of his career at Arsenal. It's not like he was a born and bred Gooner, he wanted a league winner's medal, seems fair enough. RVP's first game (and goal) at OT was my lad's first ever United match so he'll always be remembered by us!
North London deluded mentality. The same was said by spuds when sheringham signed. Saying he ruined his career, could have been a legend. Singing songs about going to United and winning fck all. Loved it when he walked round North London with the treble winners medals round his neck. RvP gives zero thought to being an arsenal legend compared to a League winner's medal. If anything I bet he regrets not moving sooner.
Really what we are most pissed off with RVP is that he spent many long periods throughout his Arsenal career on the injury table yet Wenger stuck by him saying he would come good. Wenger also stood by him during his "rape" case. RVP did come good and stayed injury free for 1 season. To repay the loyalty and faith Wenger showed him during his Arsenal career RVP then decided to run his contract down so that we had to sell him or lose him for nothing. Thats what we feel annoyed about. I have no problem with players winning medals at other clubs after leaving Arsenal (it is their job to do well) but it is the manner of how they leave not why they left. you will probably lose DeGea to Real Madrid this summer for a fee far less than his worth (he is worth upwards of £40m IMO) or he will run his contract down and you will get nothing next year for him. Let's see how you fans feel about it when it happens.
Can understand some of that but it's not like Arsenal had a choice with a player under contract but to support him during injuries. Also, anyone with half a brain could tell RVP was a worldie and to stick by him made sense. His injuries were never serious just niggly, and anyone would want to stick by a player of his talent. I dont see what else Arsenal could or should have done. And even if they had sold him earlier he would have always gone on to success with another big club. Also look at it it from his pov. He was passing his peak, he's looking at Arsenal continuously failing to win silverware and probably losing confidence in ever achieving success there. Put your Arsenal fan 'hat' to one side and ask yourself, given the circumstances, what would you have done? Tbf I would be surprised if anyone holds any animosity towards De Gea after last season...and for those who appreciated how good he was when many doubted him in previous seasons. Pogba on the hand I have mixed feelings about. On the one hand, he should have got his break under Fergie and it must have been frustrating watching Rafael being played in midfield while he sat on the bench. On the other hand I think he was an ungrateful little sh1t who should have had more faith in the club that brought him through and he would have got his break and would have had a long illustrious career with us. But having said that, he's proved the decision he made didnt undermine his achievements and therefore was equally right for him. It's the same for RVP.
Poor effort, he managed to stay fit for two seasons, the first one proved to him that if he wanted to win anything he had to move
Get over it and move on ffs 3 years on and we still have gooners behaving like jilted bitter lovers pining for an old girlfriend who went off with a better looking bloke. Lets just hope Woodward has lined up someone to replace RvP although even if we havent UIR will still profess it's all part of the plan
it does seem strange that United fans reaction to RVP leaving has literally been a shrug of the shoulder yet gooners seem to be getting completely worked up over it!
You can understand the hurt though, Fabregs, Clichy, Nasri, RvP all moved on and won the Premier League. It must really piss them off
seems like the only ones getting their knickers in a twist here are you mancs All I did was post a pic of RVP saying that in hindsight, given the gulf between Arsenal and Utd, that he maybe should have stayed at Arsenal.
He was saying that the gulf is in the negative towards Utd. So much so that he questions whether he should have joined you in the first place. So **** have you become that he's admitted that he's got more chance of success in Turkey
United 2 seasons without a trophy lol United the 4th place trophy winners lol United to become like Liverpool and bang on about history lol
