Like all gunner fans I hope Rvp remains at arsenal for the rest of his career. However as matters stand we can't rule out him leaving just yet. I believe he will stay but if he leaves will go to barca or real. If he does what course of action do you think we should take in the transfer market and with regards to our formation and system in general since right now he is one of the fulcrums of our attack and how will it affect your opinion of him. I don't believe we are as dependant on him as people make out and even without him we will challenge but there's no doubting his contribution (que mocking by rival fans!)
I would lose my faith in football entirely if he moves to Man City... don't think I'd be able to watch it ever again. If he moves elsewhere, we should replace him immediately with one of these Giroud/Suarez type CF's, as well as getting Podolski.
if we lose him we'd get good money to get a replacement (on top of Podolski), but let's hope we don't lose him, if we really want to show we have ambition, we cannot lose him, we start from scratch again if we lose one of our main stars.
If he does decide that he wants to leave, I would like the club to decide that they will not sell him, and tell him that he must see out his contract. By then he will be almost 30 and we would have had his best years, and provided he gives his all next season there would be no hard feelings from my point of view. Let's be honest, we don't need the money, and I think RVP would accept this stance and still give his all for the club, unlike someone like nasri and even cesc, that way it would give someone like podolski a year to get settled in before taking over the baton (so to speak). The only danger would be that it would affect the players and even RVP performance next season, if everyone knew that he was going to leave, but it would be a statement of intent from the club.
You'd lose your faith in football if RVP left for City? How out of touch are you with football these days? I understand how you'd feel losing RVP, I felt the same when Carroll went to the ****ing bin dippers, but that's football. You can't allow yourself to get too attached to one player, or else you're just gonna have your heart broken again and again.
He can go to Citeh if we can have Aguero and 30 million. I'd be happy with that. Shame we don't have Dein any more, he'd work something like that.
I'm not attached to the player, I just have a lot of respect for him. If he went to Real/Barca I would understand... somewhat. Going to City would mean I was completely wrong to have any respect for him, which would make me lose faith in any football player at any club tbh.
What disturbs me is the role Darren Dein plays in a number of the key transfers of our players. Transfers out of the club that is. I could be wrong about him and I'll admit to knowing less than little about the man but I have an uneasy feeling about his presence. Can anyone throw light on him pls? Cheers pals
will you blame him if he does go to 1) barca or real 2) man city for the record i will blame him considering all we've done for him through all his injury prone years and made him the striker he is today. He also had serious attitude problems and we sorted it out only for him to repay us with one and a half exceptional season. As matters stand though he is one of my favourite arsenal player (wilshere, ramsey and ryo the others)
I think he's joking, dear. I think RVP will probably be tempted away, although that would be **** as it would mean chucking the Pod in at the deep end to say the least.
speaking of pod here's a compilation of his performance against leverkusen. Good vision and holding up the ball but you can obviously tell hes a bit of a hot head (again!) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JSSAoKWPkAg&feature=g-all-u&context=G27e4993FAAAAAAAAAAA
It would be poor if he left becaue he's probably the best in the world atm. Podolski is a good signing though. Problem is where he would they go. They keeppinching your players - not like they go to Italy and nothing is ever seen of them again.
