Ok so I've just arrived in san francisco,, been on the road for a few days. Travelling up from soCal - and just heard the news about rvp. Very disappointed basically. we havestuck by him through thick and thin and basically he owes the club more than one decent season. So I think we should keep him and make him see out his contract. Anyway off out now to ride the cable cars again down to fisherman's wharf !!
Leicester fan in peace - I feel very sorry for you guys and also for Wenger who seems a decent man but a little naiive when it comes to the concept of loyalty (at least where football and footballers are concerned) .. The signings of Giroud and Podolski add a lot of quality and are a good indicator of the club's ambitions (the majority of clubs in this country would be thrilled to be linked to players of such qualty) RVP - Requires Vast Payrise - in a nutshell - cut through the 'I don't agree with the direction that the club is going in' bollox - mere smokescreen - another very greedy footballer who feels that even though he is earning more money than he will ever be able to spens, he should be earning more .... its about ego and greed - not ambition - if he was really ambitious he would have tried a lot harder at the Euros to show his comparative 'world worth' - instead he and his Dutch colleagues were exposed as sulky, bit part players at world level. I wish you well for the season - and RVP? - well paid anonymity somewhere in Europe
Agreed. You're very lucky to find a player with loyalty nowadays. Money really does control everything in this sport.
I don't think RVP is going for trophies. I think he has reached a stage where he has a small time left to maximise his income, no more no less. I don't think this makes him greedy. I don't think this makes him disloyal. I think that even had we signed Xavi & Messi, he would have left for a higher wage somewhere else. Good luck to him, but please let's not start attacking the hierarchy once again just because they are the softest targets.
