Van Persie's statement about not re-signing, which was the beginning of the end of his transfer saga, focused on the direction the club where taking. Presumably Wenger didn't share his ambition for who to bring into the club and money was nothing to do with his decision. Well we have now signed: Podolski, Giroud, Cazorla It looks like the Sahin deal may be announced tomorrow and the signs from AW are that we will bring in another player as well, possibly a direct Song replacement (M'villa maybe). Podolski, Giroud, Cazorla, Sahin, M'villa - these are top quality players and i'm sure no-one would expect us to have made such signings at the beginning of the window. If Chelsea or Utd had signed these players they would be touted as title favourites from the off. So how is RVP when asked, going to justify his move away? After his comments about wanting to win with us he leaves at a time when actually we are spending the sort of money required to compete at the top level and all we need is our top players not to leave. It is him and players like him that are the cause for us not breaking that top barrier - because they leave just as we are about to turn a corner and set us back again. Now, i understand that players get impatient and the lure of quick trophies and more money are hard to turn down - but at least come out and say that - Wengers actions in the Transfer window are quickly putting to bed any doubt about why RVP left the club. Now let's hope we can grab a trophy this season while the Scum don't!
RVP is gone. Fact. His motivation... he may never truly reveal. Only he knows why he left. I think us Arsenal fans should stop dwelling on it. Not directing this at you exactly OP but we'll come across as bitter the more we question his motives. It wasn't ideal how he left and more so who he went to but that's life. We should look forward and move on, rather than wait for a satisfying motive from him.
I think when he looks at the United team hes joined he probably thinks, hmmmm, Arsenal signed some decent players and will definitely be a decent side but there not as good as United who are more likely to win silverware and I am 29 years old so can I afford to wait a few more years or do I take the chance now?
Imo hes one of our best not the best. Rooney is our best player, Vidic close behind with Nani and Valencia not far behind them. RVP slots in nicely amongst those players.
Personally (and not intended to start an argument) you guys haven't had a truly great player since Ronaldo left. Before that it was Cantona. What I think you do have is a collection of very good and some merely effective, who work very well as a team.
Rooney, Vidic, Nani, Valencia, Robin Van Persie are all world class players imo. Being in the top 2 or 3 in their position in one of the worlds best leagues usually indicates how good you are and RVP and Rooney are the top 2 strikers in the league, Nani and Valencia the best wingers and Vidic is one of the 2 best defenders. If these are not world class players theres basically no world class players in the entire Premier League. Please dont say Aguero and Tevez are better than Rooney and RVP though, its just silly. Rooney and RVP both scored more on their own that they did together and Tevez ****ing off is not an excuse Ignore that if you were not going to say it of course
Valencia? A winger who apparently doesn't even know he's allowed to use his left foot, very overrated.
A winger who consistently creates chance after chance. Who cares if he can only use one foot? Probably best for defenders that he cant use his left as they would have little chance. Anyway Nani is the better player, some United fans will disagree with me but of our 2 world class wingers Nani is the better player. I dont want my wingers being great defensively, I want them being world class going forward and able to influence play. Nani does this better but valencia would walk into any team in the league as the right winger
And that's why it will be so pleasurable if we do something big this season, to shut ****ers like you up with your patronisation, and a nice big **** you to rvp. Signed some decent players? Our signings have been much better quality that yours in total, Cazorla Podolski Giroud Sahin>RVP, Kagawa, Powell. Your all over Kagawa's balls, lest you forget, Sahin also played in that Dortmund side, and was their best player, and even named the best player in the German league before he left to Madrid. But hey, you're a United fan, this is way over your head.
I cant really add much more, the smiley says everything. You have signed some good players, as good as we have signed, well RVP was better that everyone at your club and Kagawa would walk into your team so I would suggest not. Of course its hard to argue a point with you as you are 4 months old and need changing so I will let you get on with that
I'm pretty sure that is the SOLE reason for why Aguero and Tevez didn't score more than one of either Rooney or RvP. Well, I'd be hurting too if Arsenal lost the title on the last day to a 94th minute goal.
Rooney is sh1te . FACT . Fergie knows it but you clearly dont. I would suggest to you that RVP will STILL be at united when rooney has fooked off somewhere else. Why keep a jug eared 2nd rate striker when you have aquired the BEST striker in the league.
