Ham looking off in practice. Maybe a chance for Bottas

Riccy seems to be getting the Renault to work a lot better this year. I wonder if that is just due to new staff or it is due to him tweaking the design to his liking?

Maybe he is more relaxed knowing he is going elsewhere, less stress usually equals better results.

FP3 a bit mixed up well apart from top 2. Could be interesting quali.
Riccy adjusting his mirror at 300kph!!!! Looks like someone in Renault thought they could save a gram or 2 by not fitting a bolt to the mirror :)
Other than Mec the 'mid' field seems to be really closing up lately which is great apart from the fact they are all taking points of each other so we won't get a team that gets even close to Mercs as they spread the points out between 5 or so other teams!
I wonder how many penalties will be getting issued in quali?

Absolutely tremendous job by George Russell there- ahead of the two Ferraris.

This kid looks like he belongs. He’s going to be very interesting in a competitive car.

I think being at Williams he doesn't have much pressure and he is doing amazingly well. I do hope he goes on to have a good car

2.15 is still plenty of time to get round and start a timed lap. Hamilton needs to be at the front of the queue though

He'd going to need to be very rude to set this lap.

Well at least it adds interest for tomorrow now. Bottas and Hamilton have been forced onto different strategies.

and max starts on mediums from front row too- his tyres were hanging on well in FP3 this morning on back to back flying laps which is a good sign.

Hopefully we'll end up with max and Bottas battling on a 1 stop whilst Hamilton plays chase on a 2 stop.

He really looked out of sorts this weekend, weirdly subdued and lacking energy or enthusiasm in the press conferences, nowhere in P1 and and P2, a warning shot in P3 and then smashes it in quali.

His ability to turn it up in quali is a big part of his success on race day, time after time.

I was thinking the same that he just didn't seem on top form but pulled it out of the bag at the critical time.

He does it time and time again. He has another gear he can summon exactly when it's needed. Whenever he looks in danger in quali he just goes higher. It's an ability that says as much about his mental conditioning as his driving skill.
