Amazing how fortunes can change in such a short time. In the league with us, what six years ago, and now facing the prospect of being wound up all together. Considering their set up it's a crazy situation. I remember their benefactor building Neme Park and if memory serves me right he gave the ground to the club's fans and they have frittered it away. Imagine what our position could be if we were not paying that any rent. I know they have a much smaller fan base, but it is amazing that you can go bust when you own your ground. I always enjoyed our visits there in the past. I would say commiserations to their supporters, but it seems by press reports that it is they that have cocked it all up. One has to say, especially with the recent football league ruling coming through regarding players wages v income, that Rushden certainly will not be the last. Certainly I don't have the same amount of sympathy with them as I had with Chester FC.
I really feel for the fans, it seems bad management and poor finance has cost them. I hope something can be sorted out but its looking pretty bad at the moment. I always enjoyed our matches, home and away, against Rushden
Its a sad thing, especially after the tradgedy of their goal keeper a few months back too. Feel sorry for the fans.
