He is a power hungry individual, who I thought would be able to worm his way out of any responsibility. For that reason, I'm over the moon that this committee has had the balls to stand up to him and his influential media empire..

    Murdoch is 81 FFS!

He should retire to spend more time with his money and his 43-year old wife. I know I would :)

It was actually only the Labour MP's and the one Lib Dem MP on the committee who agreed to say that he was not a fit person to run a global business. The Conservatives voted against having that particular amendment in the report. But how they can claim he is a fit person when he 'could not recall' or 'forgot' as it suited him when he didn't want to answer a question, and when he claimed no one told him about the hacking, 'wilful blindness' as they called it. If he is mentally past it then he is not a fit person to run such a global empire and if he is not mentally past it then he was blatantly lying. Either way it seems to me the Conservatives are ignoring the evidence in favour of their media buddies.

I agree. Maybe the Labour MPs should have been a bit smarter and realised that the press would focus on the party split over that one amendment, rather than the majority of the report that they all agreed on.

Thing is, its his business, **** what the MPs say.

I dont like him, or his media corp, but unless he has broken the law and they can chuck him in prison, he started the business, he made a success of it, i would tell the MPs to do one if it was me and if they pissed about, just pull everything out of the UK, see how they like it when I make an extra million unemployed.

Surely the point is that phone and email hacking IS against the law and he 'wilfully' turned a blind eye to what his executives were authorising. Are you seriously saying that it is okay for NOTW journalists to delete the messages on Milly Dowler's phone, or to hack into the McCann's phone and email, with the full knowledge and encouragement from their managers, because News Corp is a successful business that employs a lot of people in the UK? Murdoch knew what was going on and encouraged that culture in his business and just like anyone else, he should be accountable.

I concur, the **** is bang to rights and needs dealt with. To be honest though our whole media needs an overhaul and more strict rules put in place. Freedom of speech will be the cry. **** your freedom of speech, you gave up that right when you started with all the hacking of emails/phones.

so like i said try him in a court of law and if he is guilty, put him in prison.

if they cant, then he hasnt done anything wrong, so why shouldnt he be head of HIS corporation.

Lie i said i dont like him or his corporation, but if some MPs from 1 country were telling me i couldnt run my WORLD WIDE business at all, it would be bye bye and thanks for all the fish, but you can sweep up all the **** i am leaving behind by doing so.
