Dont get me wrong QPR were AMAZING today. But I feel that in order to beat these teams we need to run with the ball more, when there is space run at them like they all do to us and every other team in the league! There is no point in walking / jogging down the pitch!

You may well be right. But what I saw was Rangers being much better when they kept the ball a while, knocking it about a bit and looking for an opening. Against the better teams a punt upfield from Kenny, or some speculative high ball up to SWP ain't going to reap many dividends. The second goal came after a fairly long period of possession, but shortly after the re-start, all seemed to be forgotten and City got their third.

These whacks upfield to a quality side only invites them to come back at you. If you keep possession (pass and move, pass and move, triangles, triangles, work for each other) then the opposition has to work that much harder and you can draw them out and probe for gap and weaknesses. I think we looked quite good when we gave this a go for various spells this evening.

What a pathetic, simplistic, ****y thread. After a performance like today's, that's all you can come up with?

Completely agree with you on the booting the ball up the pitch only for it to be at our goal in the next 30 seconds - or worse, a goal to them!

Fair enough pass well, move the ball and wait for an opportunity, but when there is space we need to moving up the pitch, passing waiting for more space and getting it up there. If you look at these 'big' teams they all dont sit there passing it - they are running at you! But i see where you are coming from.

Its a simple game, really... if you have the ball, the opposition can't score.

Not taking any credit away from the boys today, isnt the hole point of football to learn from your mistakes. May be simplistic but its true.

Dont like it dont read it.

Man City spent most of the game sitting there and passing it...till an opening presented itself.

Yes im not saying run for the sake of it! RUN when there is an opening, dont walk/jog only to be closed down straight away. Of course wait for a opening.

Agree with you there, but when doesnt he! hahah

SWP, Faurlin, Barton are the main culprits for this --- but can’t nock them today. Just trying to see possibilities for improvement.

Yet another **** post. For me only positives today, no negatives. Great performance and our best footballing display in years. We looked a proper side today.

It was a fantastic game, although we lost, the players had fight and belief in them, i'm proud to be a ranger. Do you guys think we should play it out of the back more rather than Paddy banging it up every time for Helguson to head on?

I saw SWP run at the defense a fair bit yesterday. In fact, there were times when he should have passed it instead.
As far as I'm concerned there were no negatives to take from the match yesterday (except the result!) We pretty much matched them for the full 90 minutes. We were playing against arguably the 2nd best team in the world! When we went a goal up it is the first time this season that they have trailed in a match and it could have quite easily been 2-0 rather than 1-1 at half time. Loosing 2-3 to these guys is impressive in itself but the fact that we deserved a draw, at least, is quite amazing.

Yesterday was a massive step forward in our development as PL team - if we can maintain that level of performance against the sides that are around us, then we should have no worries come the end of the season. The team has proved that 442 can be used effectively, and Betty found his shooting boots - a couple of good acquisitions in January, and we should be looking for a mid-table position (especially if the teams below keep playing like they are desperate to get into the Championship)
