Southampton fan here. There are rumours circulating that if you fail to win promotion to the premier league this season a couple of your players could be joining us. 1. James Tomkins = £2M + Aaron Martin (Who you previously had a bid turned down for) 2. Jack Collison = £3M + Dean Hammond. Thoughts?
I would be very surprised if Tomkins went to you guys for 2M , he was rumoured to maybe join Newcastle for around 7M (if we don't go up) and when you think that he's 23 and hes been outstanding for us this season 2M does seem a bit low (not to mention the fact that hes English so his price will be high). As for Collison, you owners are known for being cautious with money. Collison sufferd a very serious injury and during the season and it shows, he has lacked confidence but he is starting to come back to his old self with a few decent weeks, would your owners be prepared to risk 3M on him? So I personally think you will need more for Tomkins and might not want to risk 3M (I don't know your budget so may be wrong) on a player who returned from a serious injury and has been average until the last few weeks.
