Rumours circulating on twitter tonight suggesting Warnock under pressure for past week and may have resigned. Seem to have started with a Sheffield based journo named Biggs. Might be nothing in it, but curious did any of you lot hear anything

If he is/does good job before he wastes any more money on the shambles he has assembled.

Sad fact is looking back at recent players we had, Snoddy, howson, gradel, Delph, Beckford, and we don't have any one of that quality in our mid table team now. It's gonna cost a lot of money to even get back to as good a team as we had in division one

I'm not a fan of Warnock, but IMO he's done as well as he could with what he had. Apparently we lost out on Chris Wood due to wages, not on any transfer deal. If the owners don't back him then there's not much he can do. If that's the case then it makes no difference who is manager.

TBF Eire, a lot of those players heads were turned and they thought the grass was greener. Not many of those names have been a massive success at their respective clubs. Maybe Snoddy.

Agreed most haven't set the world on fire since but they are operating at a far higher level. They're still a lot better than what we've been left with. Yes Warnock has done ok with what he's been giving. If he can't compete for decent transfer targets, why the hell would he bother staying on. I'm sure he doesn't need the hassle if he knows we can't compete for promotion in the near future

Snoddy is doing quite well. By all reports Gradel is playing fantastically. Beckford did reasonably well at Everton given the circumstances, Delph is now starting to get his chances at Villa with Lambert there. Admittedly Howson isn't doing it although the Norwich fans thought he was amazing for his first 5 apps or so, If you include Johnson though he is doing particularly well as well.

I understand your point but we are a long way off our league 1 team let alone a championship promotion winning team. There is absolutely no position in our team currently that I wouldn't replace in all honesty

It's only to be expected. If you hand pick every decent player from the div 1 side, then either sell them or let go on a free, then fail to replace even one of them with a comparable player, what else could we have only this piss poor outfit not even able to compete with the Ipswich Towns in the transfer market

It is frustrating but then what did we spend the 2.5m or so in transfer fees on in the summer in that case?

We should've been replacing Snoddy with £2.5m, or signing maybe 2 or 3 players with it, not 11 players. You may hate Warnock, but you can't deny that he hasn't been given anything worth working with. If he had serious money in the summer, I highly doubt we would've been signing Norris, Drury, Varney, Pearce and the like. We would've gone for higher quality, and if we had higher quality we might be doing better in the league.

Exactly, bates is a ****ing mong, it cost **** all to build that team and he went and ruined it, now to rebuild a team of that quality it will cost more than the money brought in by selling those players. Completely clueless.

I hope Warnock hasn't resigned. If he's resigned it means he's not getting the backing he needs in the transfer window which means it's the same old story.

I want him to get sacked

Has he though? It was his decision to sell Clayton and believe it or not he has spent a fair wedge of cash, Norris, Varney, Peltier, Green, Drury, Pearce and Austin are all Warnocks signings. Pearce and Peltier a waste of 1.3 million? I am not saying they are worse than who we had but we leak just as many goals, we are still mid table and we are still open to the kind of home defeat dealt out to us by Watford.

I don't think the players he wanted were available at the time. Maybe he was told to sell Clayton, I don't know. Maybe if these players had stayed we might be in a better position. None of really know what the feck is going on in the back ground.

I very much doubt Warnock has quit, it may be just someone mucking around with various social media services. I reckon Warnock is here for the season and then he will be either retire or leave as his contract is up. He has so far been one of the worst Leeds United managers ever employed and anyone could see that this was going to happen when he started bringing in the type of players he has to the club. Warnock has tried to do what he has at most clubs and this time it has failed, so we suffer and he will retire happy in the knowledge that overall he was a successful football manager.
I personally want a team that can play football on the deck, with pace and high technical ability, just as Swansea did when they last played in The Championship. You can play football and get out of the Championship, you just need the right players and the right manager, at present we are a long way from this and what we have to endure week in and week out, is anti football and I personally hate it.

If Clayton was that good he would've gone to a better team than Huddersfield. Yes he could've gone on to be a very good player, but as we've said 50 times over, Warnock was attempting to build a side for promotion THIS SEASON, Clayton is nowhere near good enough to run the midfield for a promotion chasing side. I would've kept Clayton, because long term he could've become a class player, but short term we required better, more consistent players (whether we have that or not is extremely debatable) in order to attempt a promotion challenge. The short-term thinking is more to do with the club than Warnock, so I don't think it's necessarily fair to blame him for selling a player that wasn't consistent enough right now.

Yeah he has spent a fair amount of money, but it's also worth noting that we sold Snodgrass, which is where the money undoubtedly came from. Unless he went I doubt we would've spent anything near £1m. And if he had been properly backed and the players he wanted as his first choice were available, do you really think we would've signed Varney, Peltier or Pearce? It's well known that Peltier came in only after we failed at signing Joel Ward (who has done very well at Palace by all accounts). If we stumped up the cash for Ward rather than waiting until we generated the money from Snoddy's sale, we might've ended up with Ward instead of Peltier. Hardly Warnock's fault there, he had to go for the second rate player because the club wouldn't help him secure his first choice (even though we ended up paying more for Peltier than we would've done for Ward...<doh> ). And if he'd been backed properly, Snoddy might've stayed, which would've meant no Varney.

Not saying Warnock is perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but given the predicament he's been in and the market of players we've had to look at I think it's incredible we're even anywhere near the play offs.
