Being 'linked' with players is just journo's making stuff up to fill column inches....................... it means nothing. We will do nothing recruitment wise whilst the World Cup is on. I really dont know why anybody would think this transfer window will be any different from the others.

Speaking of rumours I heard two female neighbours talking....

Just thinking about this and after having a crack with a lad at work. I reckon that all the rumour's currently connecting us with players is total bullshit!

I see other clubs making signings, extending contracts of their best players, giving managers contract extensions, communicating with fans etc and we get none of that.

The fact is we have not signed a single (new) player since the season end and now the world cups on i doubt we will sign anyone until after it is finished.

I am sooooo bored of it. The silence is deafening!

I'll just debunk another myth that the club is responsible for this. I'm with Rafa on this one:

Newcastle United boss Rafa Benitez has played down the prospect of signing players from the World Cup.

Benitez admits it's not something he believes in.

He explained: "I don't think so. We have people going around but now you can see a lot of players and you don't have to be there.

"Also I am not a fan of the Euros and World Cup in terms of signing players from there because when they go there, what do they have? Something you don't have for ten months, it's not guaranteed for ten months.

"When you go to the Euros and the World Cup, everybody wants to go and they are motivated. This motivation for one or two weeks, for some players it is enough to make a name and then go to a top side.

"But after for ten months, maybe they don't reach the level. I am not impressed with the World Cup or Euros in terms of signing players because they do well there."

 

Khazri is prime example. Looked fat and ****e for Sunderland, rocked up for Tunisia and looked a real threat. I am sure Rafa could get the best out of him in the No.10 role. 10m anyone?

My post wasn’t clear. I agree with Rafa, many clubs have screwed up buying someone following a stellar international tournament. Spurs in particular!

The point I was trying unsuccessfully to make was that WC or not makes no difference to who we are after. Yet still we seem to be dragging our heels.

I don't understand where other clubs like Westham and Spurs get their money from,seems like most of the EPL are shelling big money out,so do we have the money just not spending it?
