So the people have us down for a double swoop on jay Rodriguez and roger Johnson, I must confess one I'm happy about and one I'm not, also can't see lambert moving for a player who turns up to training drunk! Thoughts guys?
As a general rule I wouldn't think Lambert would entertain anyone who turns up drunk for training. However, there has obviously been a lot of upheaval(?) at Wolves which may have affected the conduct of the player. If that is the only blemish on his record would Lambo take that into consideration?
Personally I would avoid any player from a relegated club. They become journeymen, guns for hire that would then leave us if things went t*ts up at CR. PL's policy has been to accumulate a squad that plays for the club and the shirt with effort, passion and skill to the best of their ability and this model has worked beyond all expectation. If it ain't broke!
It tells it's own story if a player has been relegated from the Premier League with two teams, two years running.
If we were to take anyone from the Woolies I'd rather it be Matt Jarvis or Michael Knightly - Fletcher maybe but Johnson - nah !
I will say that Johnson and dann were a good partnership at brum and dann getting injured was the main reason for them going down, but they've been split up after that and theyve both been hopeless at there respective clubs.
the only reason i would suggest there may be some truth in the roger johnson rumour is because i believe lambert has managed him before at wycombe. last year i'd have said a big yes to signing him... not so sure now. as for jay rod, yes please!
