Just read a rumour that Jack Payne has apparently agreed to join Burnley in January. I for one don't believe it but I do think that Payne may well be on his way sooner rather than later. Anyone know anything else about this?
We should really be trying to hold onto players like Payne. If we are in L1 next year he would be almost invaluable in any ambition that the Gills may have in at least returning to the Championship.... But, a a good replacement, from what I saw of Vincelot on Saturday, if we can get him on a permanent basis, and do a good deal to sell Payne ( with the sell on clauses that has seen us get decent money on other players ) - together with the other midfielders that we've got, I wouldn't necessarily be as upset as I thought I would be at the thought of Payne's departure...... and don't forget were top of the league without having played Payne very much this season.
I think that rumour started back at the start of the month. Since then the manager has left and gone to Bournemouth. Still be a good time for jack to move on, along with some of the others who are not getting a game due to the number of loan players coming in.
What number of loan players? Theres only Flanagan and Vincelot. Jack was injured a few weeks ago that kept him out for a couple of games, otherwise he's part of the rotating squad (except for the back line) that Mad Dog consistantly uses. And as for going to Burnley,that story first appeared after the Peterborough story felll through and was probably started on The Football Rumours site, with no substance whatsoever
On the back of the Brighton argus states Romain not going any where and not for sale in January and will come back and fight for his place

That doesn't sound as if they want him back,although of course,I've no idea if that comment is true. Yes thanks, about one month later! It appears I said something about 365 somewhere that was detriment to the site. Not the exact words used but I appear to have accidentally deleted the email response, when I looked for it just now I can only make a guess it was our previous conversation. So that has to be a first surely, banned from a site for saying something off the site. So they either stalked my discussions or someone reported me. ps. just remembered, I think the word used was 'snipe' Sorry for going off topic.
if payne goes I think these couple of loans we've had in will provide adequate chance to assess some replacements. maybe wright or vincelot on a permiant in jan, plus we have dack who is on his way to being a 1st team regular and oter cover in jackman, montrose and lee now hes fit again
Will our loan players be allowed by their respective clubs to play for us in the FA Cup this week????
