    Don't have Twitter but my kids have told me a rummour going around about Tiote to Chelsea and us getting Sturridge and cash.

    Would love Sturridge but dont want to lose Tiote.

    This. Tiote is a vital part of our midfield, and we can get another decent striker, but there aren't many Tiote-esque midfielders around

    Sturridge + £16m and I might consider it. However Sturridge would be on too much money to come here anyways. So pretty bullshit I would say.

    With Essien's injury this rummour was bound to do the rounds.

    Like I said I would love Sturridge but not with Tiote going the other way to Stamford Bridge.

    The extent of essien's injury is still not yet known so I doubt there's anything in that. I can't see them forking out for tiote eitherway though

    Playing devils advocate I would say that it is harder to buy a goalscorer than a defensive midfielder. Although I love Tiote I do think Sturridge is the best young talent in the country. Look how hard we have found it so far getting one striker in.

    Possibly if we got Sturridge and Mikel plus £15mill or so, but:

    1. Chelsea won't give us that much cash
    2. Chelsea won't let Sturridge go
    3. Tiote won't leave
    4. Sturrdige and Mikel would have too high wages.

    So all in all, NO!!!

    Not to replace Tiote. He's fine as cover/competition but he'll be on silly wages coming from Chelsea.

    As soon as I saw that Essien was potentially out for the season (career ending injury?) I guessed Tiote would become a target for Chelsea - well at least in the media. I am confident though that he'll still be with us next season.

    I knew they would as well, very easy and believable rumour to make up. He is untouchable right now, we shouldnt even be thinking about selling.

    Newcastle United have added German striker Sebastian Vettel after the club and Red Bull FC agreed a fee. Vettel will join subject to a medical.

    Something like that possibly...?
