Having re watched vs TWS and some MOTD was struck by number of times ball was handled and an advantage gained without being pulled up. In field hockey a ball striking a foot, regardless of intent, results in a free hit. Could this be adopted in football to stop the accidental on purpose strikers and midfielders who play the odds without any real risk of giving anything away?
