Wow, could turn out to be an extremely important deal in our development. Keeping our best players even in poor times is a great sign hopefully gives the fans and everyone at the club a lift. Lets go out and get winning again
Excellent news and quite a big boost That he´s prepared to stay here and roost, Don´t think he would, if he could have seen That things were sinking for the yellow and green.
Assume we keep giving him new deals to keep the vultures away, that must be his second in what six months !!
I sometimes wish that some of our fans could show the same commitment that the players are showing. would Ruddy have done this if he thought City were likely to go down? I doubt it, even given ICHB's slightly cynical caveat. It seems to me the players have confidence, even if some of the fans do not. Have a look at Rusty's presser today, if you don't believe me. http://www.express.co.uk/sport/foot...hard-working-Norwich-can-improve-on-last-year
I am glad the players have self-belief even if some of the fans do not believe in them (I think deep down we all do though). Great news for us though OTBC
its not the time to be cynical but i think a little common sense leads you to think it gives the club the best possible chance of commanding a large fee for ruddy in the summer. i'm fairly sure he will be sold in the summer, whether we stay up or not (he deserves a big move imo and he'd be the perfect age to do it) - but as i say, now's not the time to be worrying about that!
But on the positive side it does reflect well on the commitment of JR personally. I had been bothered in the Summer that Chelski had turned his head and that could have made such contract talks totally irrelevant. I guess we will have to wait for this Summer to see the relevance.
You can bet your bottom dollar that Ruddy's agent has had a 'buy out' clause put into that contract and I would suggest it is somewhere between £15-20M
