Ruddy - Called up for England Again!

    Roy Hodgson has just announced his squad for the friendly against Italy and John Ruddy has been called up to the squad along with Hart and Butland. Unfortunately there is no place for Holt. The strikers are (Christmas) Caroll, Defoe, Wallcott and Sturridge

    Wallcott as a striker and sturridge! Ha! At least he's come off a successful Olympic campaign (not!)

    Chuffed for ruddy though, he's earnt it big time

    Glad for the boy. Presumably he will be ' number 2 ' and might get some time on the pitch.

    That squad should get us nicely to the top of the FIFA rankings especially the deadly strike force.

    Would just like to add that Butland will be released to play for brum in the cup on the tuesday before. I'm fully expecting JR to get game time but im a tad p***ed off that Holt didnt get a call up as there is no excuse for it this time!

    To be honest, I can't work out why people are bothered about this. Ok, it would be nice for his CV, but he's hardly the future for England and this way we get to keep him fresh for when WE need him! <ok>

    With Butland being released to play in the cup and Hart pulling out of Man City's Community Shield game against Chelsea with a back injury, I think Ruddy's chances of getting a game have dramatically increased. Just hope he's ok for the start of the season.
