Yeah, I know the word is problematic because of the context it’s used it in. It just struck me that abbriveating the word Pakistani had become such a prejorative term.
Fix up ppl ffs. The reason the term "paki" is offensive and wrong is because it's making a statement... firstly it's to remind you (wrongly) that you are not British and never will be, and secondly by implication, that being Pakistani is inferior to being British.
Always confused me that one (and still does), like you hint the best answer is "yes I am, and quite proud of it".
