Coming away from the match and bouncing along thought we'd have the radio on. BBC Five Live to be exact. From 10pm until 10.30pm there was no mention of Sunderland's superb win against Norwich. No mention at all. It was if we hadn't played. Bolton, Arsenal, The Mags, Villa all got plenty of coverage. Come on BBC wake up and at least acknowledge we are playing good football. Very very shabby.
I think on the other side of this (TV) - MOTD cannot be shown during the week more than once (think it's broadcasting rights when there are no bank holidays or anything!) - so the BBC, in thier infinite wisdom, put MOTD on last night so they could only show half of the games - had they put it on tonight then they could have shown all 10 games but that would be too intelligent - I really wish I didn't have to pay this ****ing TV licence!!
Spot on Marcus, If the fixture were reversed MOTD would have been on Wednesday. No doubt. Sky football is fantastic. BBC is 3 minutes of action followed by 3 minutes of verbal ****e... Teams like Sunderland, Norwich, Swansea, West Brom, Fulham, Blackburn, Wigan, Villa, Bolton, Wolves, QPR, Mags, Everton don't matter to the BBC....
As I am unable to attend matches and dont have Sky I rely heavily on the BBC and do have sympathy with Durhams views, however I listened to the whole match coverage last night and during the game we were talked about in glowing terms by the four pundits in the studio, including Mark Lawrenson, Brown the ex Hull manager and Steve Harper ex Newcastle keeper. It was clear during the broadcast that as we had the game won just after half time they did concentrate more on the games in the balance, ie, all the other fixtures, when they took reports from the ground the match commentator spoke about how we had blown Norwich away and we won the game easily, a lot was said about Campbell, especially from Phil Brown as he had him at Hull before Frazier came to us and all four agreed he had done well to return to football and had made an instant impact. So whilst you didnt hear about the lads much after the game they certainly got well covered during the game. Just thought you might like to know we were not completely ignored.
The one that gets me all the time is talk sport...Their lead last night for ages was "Whats wrong at Arsenal?"......and then after going on for about 20 mins they take about two nano seconds to say By the way were not just about London clubs anyone can ring in...... Public stations acting like club facilities!!!!!
Don't get me started with TalkSport. Worse than the BBC and that's saying something. It's always Lawden Lawden Lawden.
Not just BBC, here in South Africa all we got was Arsenal's bore draw with Bolton etc; nothing mentioned about the Sunderland, Norwich game. Yet I thought (not biased at all) our game was the most entertainig of the lot!!
That's ironic coming from a poster who has took the time and effort to post on the Sunderland board..
I would give you one click, of the trigger that sends a bullet to your brain - might hurt burn your arsehole putting the barrel up there though.
Could not agree more As for whats wrong with Arsenal: Both NE clubs will finish above them this year. Wenger will leave and they will end up as a mid table side for a while. Things in football happen in cycles and Arsenal have had their time.
