Swansea City are possibly the most hated Club in the EFL at the moment. Why ? How can they be more hated than Cardiff ? Well, they have seemingly been the beneficiaries of some, allegedly, dubious refereeing decisions. Judging by the furore up and down the land, no other teams have ever enjoyed such benefits. Yes, right. Now I've been following The Swans' for more years than I care to remember, and being favoured by English referees was not something we North Bankers ever considered likely. Antipathy towards the Welsh Club was more the norm. So, what to make of this current trend of awarding late penalties, disallowing seemingly good goals, in Swansea's favour, and upsetting the likes of Neil Warnock in the process ? Well, it's about time The Swans' enjoyed the rub of the green. It just doesn't happen too often. We have had to endure blind, biased referees, as being the norm, and suffered in silence. Well, mostly in silence. I do remember it getting a tad steamy on The Bank on occasions. So, those who are currently denigrating The Swans' can just suck it up. It's our turn.
The uproar is quite ludicrous. Like has been said, we're just having a bit of the rub for a change, it doesn't happen often. Every other team gets results like these occasionally and I very much doubt those fans form a strongly worded petition to the FA to have their points rescinded If we were mid table and not at the top you wouldn't have heard boo.
Yeah we've managed to cheat our way all season to amass 19 wins, 65 points & until a couple of weeks ago, concede only 15 goals in about 29 league games, with approx. 17 clean sheets. That's some cheating feat that... How about, by & large, as the stats state, we must be a good team!! We know we've been lucky at times, what team isn't over a season. The luck has certainly been very apparent of late. Also, we've been exhilarating in games too & totally outclassed teams. Scum away anyone... We've also been absolutely rotten. Although somehow, we've found ways of still gaining points that in previous seasons we would've come away with nothing. That's a sign of a good team & good teams sometimes get promoted. Overall, no one would like a bit more Swanselona football, than us Jack's. I feel it's just not going to happen under Cooper. But we'll take being in the automatic race. If it upsets some poor ol Bees & a couple of Colin's on the way, what a bonus..
Double bubble upsetting them pair, just imagine Fanks face if we score a pen in the 95th min against Watford to beat them into second place.
The difference imo is our expectations are lower than Brentfords or Watford certainly mine are and maybe that’s what’s getting to them ,re Warnock as long as he’s allowed encouraged to act like a twat then that’s what he’ll continue to do , his over inflated ego is one of the reasons he won’t retire otherwise he’d just disappear into the background and the thought of that must eat him up inside
The " uproar " is enhanced by the likes of Lineker poking his nose in, and making the whole thing bigger than it really is.
It seems to be the 'older' members of the squad who are winning these 'dubious' penalties - Kyle Naughton (32), Jake Bidwell (27). Throw in Ryan Bennett (31) as well, I think they can all look after themselves on the pitch and can take one for the team when necessary. Perhaps Swansea 2021 is becoming more streetwise than the purer Swanselona of previous years... P.S. Wasn't aware that Bidwell played 190 games for Brentford....
Yes this Swansea team is more streetwise than last season and that is why we are now getting our fair share of penalties and games where we would not have had results in the last two seasons at least...
