Personally think we need two wingers, Johnson would be class to play on the right if we get him but I feel as though we need competition for McClean, this time last year the lad had just been signed for 300k to go into our development squad and has been a success story since MoN came in. However though I feel as though we need competition for him and I think MoN does as well. From what MoN has said it sounds like he wants to protect James McClean and he doesn't want to put to much pressure on a young lad as sooner or later it will catch up with him and with a young player sometimes it is best to take them out of the side for a few games and then bring them back when there hungry and then u get another great spell out of them, its called good man management. Would Royston Drenthe be a good signing as competition for McClean? On a free and his wages would be well within our budget I thought he looked good at times for Everton last season and will only get better as he is only a young lad. In modern day football you cannot have enough options with injuries, suspensions and a lack of form. Anyone else think he would be a good option?
Being honest I think you'll struggle to attract him. he would be a fantastic signing though. Last I heard he has offers from all round Europe (quite a few teams in European competition too) and that he was considering Galatasaray. He was also linked with Citeh??? Maybe he is Johnson's replacement when he signs for your lot........
Good player but by all accounts a bit of a mare to manage, MON will have his hands full if we did go for him.
very good player, but always getting pissed, by all accounts a poor trainer, turns up late to training and doesn't have any respect for a his employers. he's not worth it
