Do people agree with him or not? Ireland had very little chance at the start lets face it, they did extremely well to qualify and were placed in a very tough group. The reigning champs Spain beat them 4-0, not that surprising considering the best of the Irish players are getting on a bit now ... Fair play maybe it was a bit of a heat of the moment comment but seems a bit harsh does it not? Their concentration in the earlier stages of matches could have been improved but against the Croatians they suffered a fair bit of bad luck with two of the goals.
Yes a lot of those players are fairly rubbish... but the manager picks them, he should be criticised for that. But how can you criticise the players for prasing the fans... thats crazy!
Keane is a horrible pikey twat, he can slate the players all he wants as most of them deserve it but the fans are amazing no matter what that miserable **** thinks.
The team did well to get there and being drawn against the 1st, 4th and 7th teams in Europe, going by the ranking, was always going to be tough. A lot of the players either didn't play that much or had poor seasons and there's not a lot of alternatives available.
Irelands best 4 midfielders - McCarthy, Gibson, Ireland and McClean - McGeady has been awful and McCarthys absence is understandable, i know Ireland was an ass but forgiving is a way of life Shane Long not playing was also shocking and the back 5 were awful with only St Ledger getting anything(goal) out of this tournament Think its time for Given, Dunne, Duff, Keane to retire and let the new gen in Team for next match Westwood Coleman - St Ledger - O'Shea (c) - Wilson McCarthy - Whelan - Gibson McGeady - Long - McClean McCarthy is a doubt with Ireland coming in, then with Stephen Kelly, Stephen Ward, Shane Duffy we have back up for defense Ireland and Hoolahan for midfield Walters and the guy who should have been called up, Joe Mason as back up to the strikers with Cox and Doyle also floating around

cos he's lost the plot when asked before the tournament about irelands chances he said at least the players wont be falsely accused of things by the manager referring to his claim that mc mcarthy accused him of faking injury in saipan. he's miserable and wants everyone else to join him
O'Shea has been awfull in this comp and has been for a while... he's not a good fullback, play him at centre half or on the bench. Did anyone else think Mcgeady was our best player against Italy before he was taken off? Just contributes to Traps crazy thinking. Stephen Ireland should be asked to some back. I absolutely hate they guy but all will be forgiven when he's scoring goals and becomes a key member of our squad.
