Better than the crook Redknapp and definitely Pearce. At least he's got experience managing at International level and quite a good success rate.

I don't really care who the next England manager is but if they're looking for someone who isn't thick, isn't a crook and isn't a sex addict that rules out Pearce, Redknapp and Pardew respectively and leaves......well, leaves just Hodgson.

I don't know what the fuss with Redknapp is.

What has he ever done to deserve managing the National side?

He's only doing well at Spurs with talent such as Modric, Van Der Vaart, Bale, Parker and Walker that'd walk into most Champions League sides.

I'd rather Hodgson get it anyday.

Good. Has experience at international level and could get the most out of the team IMO. 'Arrys built his reputation in the transfer market so I don't get why everyone thought he should get it.

Yes, I don't know where this reputation has come from. Did very well with Switzerland, Inter, Finland and Fulham, doing well with West Brom, and in fact had a better league record with the Scousers than Dalglish has. What exactly has he done wrong?

He's not won anything but he has a history of getting teams to overperform. The FA seem set on getting an English manager and he's the best candidate.

I secretly hoped that we would turn to José Mourinho, as I could see him and the old guard winning the Euro's with ease.

The fact he is Portuguese would have been a nice bonus for the World Cup in Brazil as well.

He would not have been cheap but it only would have cost us 2 years wages.

<laugh> This is funny, I'm so glad at times like these that I've lost most of my interest for international football when things like this look likely to happen

Although I am a fan of English managers for england, especially given the fact the players need to be english

I will give him 12 months in the job - it will be an absolute terrible appointment, never won a thing managed one high profile team in Liverpool and he was a disaster, couldn't handle the big names and the big egos. Yes he did okay with Fulham and he has kept West Brom up, it's like saying Warnock has won several promotions let us make him England manager, just a joke. He had his chance with a big club and blew it, he ends up at West Brom because any better team has no interest in him. Agreed better than Pearce but that isn't really much of a compliment, who isn't...

So Inter Milan aren't a "high profile" team?

He finished 7th with them when it was a team rebuilding, no big name stars were with them, Hodgson says it himself when he is quoted "We lacked stars, apart from Paul Ince"... If you think he will be a good England manager I hope you are right, personally I think it is a terrible move.

To tell you the truth while there's John Terry, Wayne Rooney, Rio Ferdinand and Ashley Cole playing for England I don't care.

Overpaid, over rated, Blue Scum Racist, Scummer Pest, Scummer Druggie, Blue Scummer Knob of the highest standard.
