There's a possibility that we'll end the season in a play-off final @ Wembley. I'm not betting on it, but there's a chance. But I was thinking more of the Conference play-off final. There's a real ding-dong going on at the top, with Cheltenham Town and Forest Green Rovers neck and neck. Grimsby are a little off the pace in 3rd place, and play FGR tonight at the New Lawns. Going to Wembley is always an experience, so I was wondering if you would be thinking of going if: a. Cheltenham Town were playing b. Forest Green Rovers were playing c. somehow another team pipped them both and it was a Cheltenham Town v FGR game. I would certainly seriously consider going if it was b. or c.
For me, no way. However I have been keeping an eye on that league after last season. Dont know why though. If we go up to L1, I wouldnt look back at L2, so I dont know why I been keeping an eye out for results and the table for the National League. I been looking out for Monkhouse and now Blissett. Looks like Grimsby yet again in the play offs. Wonder if they fail again!
I would like to see FGR go up automatically I'm not a fan Cheltenham hope they **** it up and stay down
Personally,I wouldn't cross the street to watch Cheltenham, let alone go to Wembley! I'm not convinced we will make it to the play - off final this season but being the eternal optimist, I've already booked the 30th May off work, just in case! Haven't got a problem with FGR, in fact thinking about it, I couldn't care less about them either way so I certainly wouldn't go to Wembley to watch them. To be fair, if there was any justice, Grimsby will actually make it this time, one way or another. I cant imagine following a team that has come so close so many times and blown it at the end. I am so relieved we got out that league first time, seeing us have to play some of those teams was soul destroying and while I think that dropping out of the league will prove to be a blessing in disguise, its not an experience I would wish on any team (except Bristol City of course!! )
Grimsby go 1-0 up tonight. Oh the irony! Monkhouse gets the ball on the left and puts in a lovely chip to the far post. Disley arrives late to leap and put a glancing header just inside the post. Oh to have a CM who scores goals!
