Now I realise that we all feel that he shouldn't ahve left us in the first place, I realise also that we've sung nasty things about the poor lad in the past couple of seasons. . . however, I'm as fickle as your average footy fan and would be very pleased to ahve him back. What do you reckon?

Well 90% of the players who he blanked when he ****ed off without saying goodbye have left........so he wouldn't be disruptive in the dressing room ;)

Be a good accquisition IMO <ok>

Might have a huge ego, but can't argue against him being a very good player at this level and for that reason I'd love to see him back in a city shirt

If his ego is still as big, he'd opt for Swansea due to their...*sigh... Premiership status rather than come to us. I'd rather see him go there than to another Championship club. I've read a lot of the Geordie faithful don't rate him as a Prem player but at this level he can be dangerous.

It wont be whether its prem or championship with this guy, it will be who offers the most money.
Although he is in it for the money it doesn't affect his play, which is excellent.
True mercenary who can get the job done for the right price.

As you are a level below us he'd be an excellent signing for you. But as you rightly say why would he when we've bid for him? As long as it's not part of a deal to take Taylor I'd be happy. Can't see you getting him unless we drop our interest and you offer more in wages.

A very good Championship player, Premier League?

Wages are the key. Whoever tops the auction will get him. Money is his motivator.

Hit the Road, don't speak too soon. Your conversion rate of players you show interest in and those signing for the club doesn't look good so far. In the last week, 'Swansea are interested in.....' is followed a day or two later by, 'Swansea target xxx has signed for yyy' and has happened several times.

Specifically on this signing, I'm not sure we'll want to meet his wage demands.

its a shame this guy is blinded money, you would have thought by now the penny would have dropped with routledge and he would realise that the only way he'll be a PL regular is by playing week in week out. he got this at QPR, then went off to newcastle and predictably got frozen out.

he could be a good player for swansea, him and sinclair on opposite wingers in a 433 could wreak havoc with the lesser sides of the PL.

The guy plays for money...Earnshaw and Bellamy play with passion. We don`t want this guy.

We just got rid of one guy who had no passion.

Nicknames can be confusing, for instance, I used to think you were a cricket fan who stumbled onto the Cardiff board Glamorgan <laugh>

Hit the road, another plastic fan who joined after the jacks were promoted.
And you think he will only join us if you decide you don't want him.
what makes you think in all honesty that he would want to be in Swansea? He might play for you if no one else wanted him and Huw agreed he could live in Cardiff. You know your town is a tip.
    go away!

I cant see him going to either club, he's not afraid to move around chasing the money though and in his favour he seems to want first team football, he could just pick up his pay at Newcastle and go nowhere, however that is not the case with Pat. He will sign for a lowly EWPL side sooner or later.
